Like Skylanders? Have a Wii and a Wii U? Then you can play the newest Skylanders game on both just by buying the Wii one!
The news was revealed Wednesday via the official Skylanders Twitter account:

This is certainly an interesting move, and it makes sense. The figurines are where the money comes from, so if you can give the game away, people are still going to buy the toys. Plus, giving a copy of the game away can increase the install base for the Skylanders game, and maybe for the Wii U as a whole.
Skylanders Trap Team releases on October 5th on Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.
In unrelated news, if any of you Wii owners buy the new Skylanders game, I can make sure the Wii U version finds a new home.
