Shaq-Fu Returns!

Nope. It's not April Fool's Day. Maybe it should be. Because a crowdfunding project called Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn has reached its goal, which means the Wii U will be 'graced' with a new game starring the giganto basketball legend.

That's right, someone thought it would be a good idea to reboot what many affectionately refer to as "The worst fighting game ever made." To be fair, we don't know a whole lot about the game yet. The crowdfunding page says it's a beat em' up title with a multiplayer fighting mode. The developers say it takes the great elements from a lot of great fighting games. It looks like it borrows heavily from Super Street Fighter IV, in particular.

The original funding goal was $450,000, which was finally achieved on the night of May 5th (two months after the original date, and the last day of the campaign). To be honest, no one thought it would reach the goal at first. You know, since the original game sucked.

But at least the developers are trying. And they are very aware of the notorious reputation of the original game. They even offered supporters t-shirts that say "Don't Fu it up."

The game will be released on Wii U (and other, less important systems) at an unspecified date.
