Happy Father's Day!

Today is the day when we honor our fathers. If you play games with your dad, that's awesome. If not, that's ok, too.

While my own father doesn't game very often, I do have some fond memories of a few games.

Back in the NES days, there was a game called Operation Wolf. Basically, you use the Zapper to blast enemy soldiers. It's a great game, although it's very difficult. I don't recall ever getting farther than about level 2.

Well, one day, Dad picked up the game and started "shootin' Nazis". I think he must have been a WWII veteran in another life because he was killing Nazis like it was going out of style. In fact, he was able to reach the second-to-last level at one point. That's really impressive. Go Dad!

There's been a few times we've gamed since then. A little Wii Bowling, a little Tiger Woods golf. And while it has never been his forte, I think he could have been an elite gamer if he felt like it.

Here's to our dads, both those who game, and those who don't. May they always bring fun into our lives, whether it's digital or otherwise.
