Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8 has sold an astonishing 1.2 million units in its first weekend on sale.
This should not be a surprise to anyone, since the game is amazing. If you haven't played it, then do yourself a favor and find a friend. Also, play Mario Kart 8.
That means that in the three days the game has been out, it has already become the 7th best-selling game on Wii U, right behind Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. It's probably already passed that mark by now, as LoZ: WWHD is sitting at 1.22 million (New Super Mario Bros. U is the best-selling Wii U game for now).
Just goes to show you that any perceived failure can be overcome by a mustachioed plumber in a go-kart... wait, what?

Definitely not surprising... such a great game! I can't wait to see how the new Smash sells :)
